The truth about Coeur d'Alene, Idaho's weather

Blog Post Image

"The place is beautiful, but...the winters are horrible!"

It is the most misunderstood, misquoted, and often used excuse to discredit the quality of life in Coeur d'Alene and North Idaho.

When picturing North Idaho in their minds, people associate the winters with the Northeast or even the Midwest. North Idaho winters resemble Western Washington more than they do North Dakota, or even Utah!

Fact is, North Idaho averages less than six feet of snow per year and average cold temps rarely dip below 20 degrees!

Yes, North Idaho has four seasons, and one of those is winter!

However, all four seasons are mild..winters are not too cold, springs are not too wet, summers are not too hot, and fall is... well...perfect!
